Interview Reflection Interview Assignment - 1100 Words
Interview Reflection Assignment As an undecided major, most of my classes are general education and are there to fulfill requirements. However, I have an interest in education and special education so I took a special disabilities class. EDSP289I explores disabilities, ââ¬Å"From Stigma to Slideshowâ⬠and the idea of disabilities being socially constructed. After being given the interview assignment in class, I knew who I wanted to interview immediately. I enjoy going to EDSP and learning about special disabilities so there was only one teacher I had interest in interviewing, Dr. Leone. I chose Dr. Leone because of my interest in his class but also because of my interest in him and his profession. After hearing about his real life experiencesâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦I began by asking questions about Dr. Leoneââ¬â¢s childhood which he described as ââ¬Å"averageâ⬠and ââ¬Å"normal.â⬠We briefly discussed his education as I had already completed research on it . We then talked about special education and his journey to becoming involved. I found it interesting that Dr. Leone received his Bachelors degree in history. He furtherly explained that he did not realize his passion for special education until later, resulting in his Masterââ¬â¢s degree being in special education. It makes me feel better to know that I donââ¬â¢t need to have everything in my life planned out at this moment. Then, we talked about the course, EDSP289I, and I discovered that Dr. Leone, himself, developed the course along with another professor. I find it interesting that professors are able to create courses because that is something new to me. Before college, classes in high school were very standard, excluding electives. However in college, new classes are being developed all the time. Dr. Leone also gave me information about the ââ¬Å"sister courseâ⬠to his class which was very helpful because I would potentially be interested in taking it. After discu ssing education, I asked Dr. Leone for some advice. He advised me on how to make the best out of my freshman year at college. While some of the things he said I have heard many times, it has never been from a professor. For example, my grandparents have told me to try new things and go out of my comfort zone whichShow MoreRelatedInterview And Reflection Assignment On Innovation1177 Words à |à 5 PagesInterview and Reflection Assignment Innovation is significantly more than simple plan thinking workshops.
